Acid Reflux help

(here is the disclaimer, I am NOT a doctor nor a nurse, I have not formally studied medicine)
I do tend to try things out on myself. I tried out calming my stomach issues with the baby gripe water which worked a little bit. Yesterday I started looking into Potassium because I had been getting cramps in my legs in the middle of the night and feeling faint with my heart doing some funny quick steps to add to everything else. I went to the chemist asked for Potassium, the chemist made me up a bottle of Potassium Chloride 600mg, I had one tablet when we got back at about 3 - 4 pm and another at about 2 am when I needed to get up. Get this I have not had acid reflux for over 12 hours now :-). I feel like I have hit the acid reflux jackpot. So ladies if you are thinking of copying please check with your doctor/ OB or midwife first. This is the first time I have felt so human for so long for at least 6 months. I still got a bit of leg cramp last night but it was shorter than the other few nights. I have found a link this morning showing others using Potassium for reflux since http://www.heartburnreliefblog.com/heartburn-relief/potassium-helpful-
for-heartburn-relief-21/

And I will let you know how I go :-)

Hi Suzanne.
A friend of mine has terrible reflux with her pregnancy and I remembered reading your blog and that you suffered from it too. Did the potassium work? She is so desperate, she's had it really bad!
Are you and Richard proud parents yet? Congratulations if you are! And when you do, enjoy the ride, warm wishes to you both xxx

Sorry for the slow reply Siobhan, it worked a little bit, but I ended up going to the doctors and getting Zantac, amazing how within 24 hours of having baby all of acid reflux just goes.
