In reference to my 5th of July blog

(giggles) and in Richards very sweet and also very short words from his blog.
"On the 5th (whilst in Phuket,) I asked Suzanne to be my wife and she accepted. It was then made official on the 21st when she received her ring."
Yes we are engaged, and very happy.

Day 11

The last full day has nearly come and gone. I've taken some mini 10 min movies of this paradise with me from Richards camera. I've had my last Chicken Penne Pasta from room service :-( and will have my last Pad Thai tomorrow for lunch. Tried a Daiquiri for the first time today at lunch, lemony with a bit of a kick.
There have been a few times its rained over the last few days but it rains later in the evening and over night and by the time we get up for breakfast its all tried up again.
I don't want to leave, Richard is missing wireless and being able to drink water from the tap again.
We went down to "into the beach" for lunch today, then to the infinity pool to cool down and did a little bit of sunbathing, then back up to the room for dinner on the balcony and off to pick up Richards tailored clothes.
This view, lovely smiley people, great service this view.

Day 10

Went shopping again, hope I'm not over the weight limit for my suitcase. Specially after I've added the 2 suit Jackets, 2 skirts and 2 Trousers.

Had an all over body aromassage, facial and pedicure. Pure luxury.

Day 8

We went up the road to pick up our laundry (about 1/2 the price of the resort laundry), had a look at the little shop and bought a pretty big oriental fan and baby umbrella.
Having a very lazy day, decided to walk around the resort and take photos. Its such a beautiful place.

In the evening we went back down to the front gate where our tailor also is. What he has done of the suits are looking really great. Another fitting again tomorrow night (the 9th)

Went to bon island for some r & r. What a beautiful beach.

Day 6

Richard had a few problems with the server in the states, decided to crash, which is not great for his clients. Unfortunately that was our morning gone, good news is I'm now all caught up on my blog again, and we are going for a guided tour around the island from 1pm today.

Day 5 evening

Went to the hotels restaurant where we had a buffet dinner. What a beautiful view.
........ To be filled in later.

Day 5

On day Five we decided we would walk up the road and go to the markets just up around the corner. It was a bit further than I thought and it was not up and running when we got there (11 - 11.30ish), we decided to catch a taxi to Patong Beach/town center and go shopping. For equal to $200 NZD I bought 1 watch, 2 bags, 1 purse, 1 good red evening dress, 4 good tee shirts, 1 loose light top to go over sun burnt shoulders before they get any worse. I'm not good at haggling.

In a shop.

Man outside tailors trying to pull in customers. (Most tailors have these men outside, they are very pushy, and there are many tailors)

There are many stalls, and it look like all cables are above the road. I am hoping the higher ones are the power lines as some are at arms length in some places.

Phuket - Day 4 of our holiday.

If we can afford to do this again we will. The weather is beautiful, the threatened scattered thunder storms have not been noticeable if they have even happened. The Evason where we are staying is such a lovely hotel. Its been over cast all but once, but the temperature is very agreeable.

The pic is our scenery from our hotel belcony. The people here are so lovely.

On day Four we went to see the FantaSea Show, we were driven through Patong Beach/town center, what an excellent show, silly me for not bringing the camera, thankfully Richards mobile has a pretty good camera on it. We also had dinner there, that was an experience and a half, Richard loved the options of food, I felt more like I was on a conveyor belt because we are all seated together, its a very good idea asking where we are from, I don't want to know what it would be like if they decided to seat the Palestinians with the Israelis. We were very tired by the time we got home.

In the Resturant.

The entrance to the FantaSea show.

One night in Bangkok,

(1st July – 2nd July 2007)
Our first morning in Thailand, only half a day in Bangkok.
I’m very tired as we only got a few hours sleep before picking up dad from the airport at 3ish am on the 1st July, then getting to the airport at 12ish in the afternoon to fly out.
Decided that I love the temperature, best way I can describe the heat is like sitting in a luke warm sauna, not as humid as I recall Hawaii being.
Not taken any photos yet.
Write thoughts to add on later. The big red man statue on the left and green man on the right just before going through to the immigration line for processing were cool. Travelators like I remember LA airport having.
On the way to the Indra Regent in the shuttle we passed what can only be heaps of stray dogs, noticed lots of dogs in a pack. (I counted 5 dogs all sitting down together).
Also noticed on the way here that they drive on the same side of the road as us (Left side), the drivers seem to look at their indicator switch on their cars and shrug their shoulders, not knowing what to do with it, because Richard and I noticed no one using it to change lanes. And for such a big city they still have over head power lines (In most areas and suburbs in NZ they have all be put under ground).
When we got to the hotel, went out to see if any of the markets were open (had read info online about the pratnum markets being 24 hours), toktok man wanted to show us round, first suggesting he take us to a restaurant then trying to suggested we go to see a strip club. (shivers), this was all a bit too scary for me.
Can see a vast difference between those who have money and those who don’t already.
Found a store, bought a 80gm bag of salted cashew nuts for 40 baht (basically $1.60 NZD), and 50 gms of honey roasted peanuts for 10 baht (40 New Zealand cents). Richard and I ordered in, the Resturant took a while to get someone to get back to us for the “24 hour room service” But he apologized for the delay when we made our order and delivered. My cheese and mushroom omlete was devine, and Richard had a club sandwich. And this only came to 550 baht.($22 NZD), By the way they tip people here, so we are picking up on this strange custom, you don’t want to offend with too small an amount but you want to keep your spending money also.
Still need to get a power adapter so trying to store memories and make sure I save battery space. ------ Need to get photos.
10.50am (NZ time) 5.50am (Bangkok time) and I will be going down at 6am to book for a tour called the “City & Temples tour” hoping to get some great photos.
